BECOME A SUCCESSFUL TRAVEL BLOGGER
I don’t publish articles on how to succeed at blogging frequently because it’s a consumer-oriented travel site, not an online blog. However, I’ve come across numerous articles about travel blogging recently, which have several things I disagree with, and they offer some wrong advice.
As a blogger for over 12 years, I would like to counterbalance some of the prevalent (and incorrect) wisdom on how to make it work.
It’s a very crowded area — and it’s getting more and more crowded every day. The idea is that “getting paid to travel the world” is an incredible thing to accomplish. You can visit unique destinations around the globe for free!
First, running an influential travel blog or any other blog in any sector is a long and tedious process. Putting up posts will not bring in the amount of money you earn falling like rain (though, as per certain people I’ve met during pay-for trips, it might at most be an occasional drizzle). It’s a must to work to get it.
The process of blogging requires persistence.
If you do not win or win the Internet “viral” lottery, you’ll have to put away for at least one year before beginning to see income begin to flow in.
Creating a blog is like constructing any other business: it takes patience, time, and commitment.
Consider travel blogging as a restaurant. While there are many restaurants, it doesn’t mean they’re all great, and having one you own is not a good idea! If you want to open restaurants or become a top chef, look around and think, “I can do this better.”
This is the attitude you must be able to bring to your travel blog.
Look at the surroundings and say, “I can do this better!”
If someone can write and travel, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll write well or be excellent travel writers. Most travel websites aren’t great; therefore, don’t be concerned about the number of websites available. Be concerned about the standard of the blogs that are out there.
It’s not an overcrowded field when you view it this way.
Here are the nine things you can try to do to make it in travel blogging (or any other area of blogging) and stand out from the rest of the bloggers. By doing these, you’ll be much more successful than most bloggers.
Read a Lot of Books
I am always surprised that few travel bloggers learn their expertise through reading. Few read any business, marketing, strategy, or self-development book. Writing blogs is just like running a company, but you’ll fall behind if you don’t attend “school” and constantly learn about it. Everyone I know who is successful is an avid reader. They are always looking to increase their skills and understanding.
Always be an active student. It is essential always to be learning. In the end, Why do you have to reinvent the wheel?
Find out the expert opinion, find out what works, and then apply the lessons you learned to your blog. If you’ve been through that and succeeded, why not learn by trial and failure? Please find out the best method to accomplish the task… then do it!
I read lots of books, in addition to travel books. I devour books on management, marketing writing, history, and biographies. Even if you gain one insight into the text, it was well worth it. I try to read at least one weekly book and often read several books simultaneously. Business, travel, history, and fiction — I devour everything.
If you can only do one thing on this list, choose this one.

Be Like Apple — Think Different
Whatever you decide you write about, you should try to present the subject in an approach that isn’t previously done.
If everyone is sharing content sponsored by a company, do not.
If everyone has written text, you can make an animated video.
If everyone else is severe, you should be funny.
If you’re a person who has complicated designs, opt for simple.
If everyone posts single blog posts, you can tell the story in a series of posts to keep people returning to your blog to read more.
Always think outside the box and create something unique and different.
What sets us apart is that we place the same level of detail into our blog posts that no other website can match. Our posts are the definitive guides to places. Invest in Your Blog
I was adamant about not spending money on this site for an extended period. I resisted all expenses and saw each cost as unfavorable. “That designer is beautiful, but I’m not able to afford it. I’ll just create a crappier design myself.”
Then I realized that spending money wisely is a way to invest.
Today, I pay SEO auditors, designers for conferences, audio and video editors and copy editors, and more. This lets me improve the user experience, create valuable products, develop other projects, and have more space to work on writing. I focus on my primary skills and then hire others to help.
It’s easy to think, “Oh, that conference is way too costly. I don’t have the money to pay this amount of money.” But if the conference creates a strong business connection that results in new sales or guest posting opportunities and a guest posting opportunity, then it’s worth the expense.
The business invests in itself. It is important to follow suit.
It’s easy to say that, however, little money can make a difference even before you start. I didn’t begin by hiring numerous people. I started with one person first, then another, and another. Even if you only spend hundreds of dollars on more attractive banners, it can make a huge difference in improving your visitors’ experience.
