THE BILT REWARDS CARD: HOW TO EARN POINTS BY PAYING YOUR RENT
As a frequent traveling hacker, I constantly search for ways to earn miles and points through my daily spending. This is why I can make more than one million points each year, which allows me to take advantage of all sorts of accessible hotels and flights as well as upgrades, access to lounges, elite status, and many more.
Hacking travel has saved me thousands of dollars in the past, and I wouldn’t have been able to travel as far without it.
But, one considerable cost has always made it challenging to earn points on rent.
Since the beginning, travel hackers have taken advantage of short-term promotions that reduce charges on credit cards or go through complicated processes to pay rent to earn points.
But these tactics were one-way and didn’t last for very long. Many points were likely to remain open.
The introduction of the Bilt card: You can now earn points when you rent. This has revolutionized the game.
What is Bilt?
Bilt is a credit card that lets you earn points whenever you pay rent (as well as everyday purchases). Then, you can use the facts just like any other reward program: you can use them to purchase trips directly, transfer them to travel partners or use some of the other options for redemption.
There are two methods of earning Bilt points. You can make them by renting a Bilt Alliance house or using your Bilt World Elite Mastercard(r).
Bilt Alliance properties form a group of two million units across the US. But I’m not going to concentrate on this. I’ll be talking about credit cards since it’s the one that most people use.
How Does the Bilt Card Work?
When you’ve opened an account with a Bilt Mastercard(r) (which originates from Wells Fargo and has no annual fees), you visit the Bilt application or site to establish your monthly rental payment.
Bilt creates a distinct bank account linked with your Bilt credit card to ensure that rent can be paid via an electronic check instead of the credit card. This account is an official “dummy” account created as an escape route for credit card processing charges. It is not used for other purposes or to make deposits or withdrawals.
When these unique routing and account numbers are employed to pay rent, the Bilt Mastercard(r) is charged the exact amount. (You must still connect an account with your bank to deliver the credit card every month.)
Iflder-fashioned only accepts check payments; you still have to pay using your Bilt card via the Bilt Rewards application, and Bilt will issue a check for you on your behalf.
It takes around five minutes to put it all together. Once you’re done, you’ll earn points for your rent. I use it, so I don’t waste any issues lying around. It’s also one of my most loved cards.
Bilt Reward Perks
When your account is established, you’ll earn 1 point for every dollar you spend using a Bilt credit card. Bilt credit card for rent, up to 100,000 points every calendar year. While the mileage required to qualify for free flights differs according to various factors, if you play your cards well, that number of points can earn you a complimentary round-trip flight from New York to London.
In addition, though the earning of points on rent payments is Bilt’s primary draw, you’ll also earn 2 points for every dollar you spend on travel (when you book directly or via the Bilt Portal for Travel) and Three points for every dollar spent at restaurants out, as well as up to five points for every dollar on Lyft. You’ll earn one point per dollar for all other purchases. Overall, Bilt makes it easy to earn points (which is why this card is among my top choices).
Be aware that you must spend five dollars each month (with no minimum spend required) to be eligible for these rewards.
Points can be transferred directly to your travel partners, such as American Airlines, United Emirates, Hawaiian, Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Air France/KLM Hyatt, and IHG.
Moving Bilt points into American Airlines and Hyatt distinguishes this card (besides renting). It’s the only way to transfer points to American and Hyatt, a critical selling advantage for this card since it’s the only way to earn points from AA without an AAC card. (I transferred points into AA to pay for my first-class trip for a trip to Japan).
Determining the most efficient use for your Bilt points when booking flights is simple because Bilt is integrated directly into the matter. Me, the points-based search engine for booking flights. You need to type in the destination you want in the travel portal of the app, and the search feature (powered with point. me) will display all flights you can book with Bilt points. Once you’ve chosen your preferred option, you can directly move the Bilt points to the appropriate travel partner within the application.
It is also possible to redeem points to attend fitness classes such as SoulCycle, Solidcore, Rumble, and Y7, as well as for items from the Bilt Collection, a carefully selected collection of hand-crafted home decor products. However, redeeming points for fitness classes is akin to approximately 1 percent -and you can get a higher chance to redeem points on purchases made during travel.
Furthermore, purchases can aid in earning status within Bilt Rewards. Bilt Rewards program is based on the number of points you earn each year.
The tiers of those Bilt Rewards include the following (subsequent levels will consist of all of the above stories):
Silver (25,000 points per year) 10 percent bonus points upon signing a lease renewal or extending your lease and the interest rate on your issues balance (at the FDIC annual savings rate).
