Magical Things to Do in Miami at Christmas
Many people don’t consider Miami a particularly festive city at Christmas. No snow and fireplaces are only ornamental, while the warmer temperatures don’t exactly scream hot cocoa!
Because of the weather, Miami is an excellent holiday destination when you know where to search.
I’ve resided in Miami for over twenty years. Here are my suggestions on the top things you can do in Miami during Christmas!
Weather in Miami in December
Miami is among the most romantic places to go on a winter getaway. There is never a dull moment, but the temperatures in the holiday season aren’t as hot as during the remainder of the year. December is the coldest month in Miami, with the average high temperature between the low and mid-80s and lows of the mid to low 60s. It’s the ideal time to enjoy outdoor Christmas celebrations!
Where to Stay in Miami at Christmas
Miami offers a range of hotels catering to all tastes, ages, and travel styles for every budget. If you’re concerned about security during your stay in Miami, many extremely secure neighborhoods exist. South Beach is not the only choice.
The Betsy Hotel in Miami Beach The Betsy is a fantastic hotel situated in the ideal spot to take advantage of the many things South Beach offers. The quaint Art Deco building is now an elegant boutique hotel with a variety of unique features as well as rooftop pools. The Besty is an excellent option if you want a stay at South Beach but want a cozy experience.
Mr. C located in Coconut Grove: Mr. C is smacked to death in the heart of Coconut Grove, my favorite Miami neighborhood. Coconut Grove is probably the most walkable area in Miami. It’s wide with trees and greenery and has a variety of excellent restaurants with a more relaxed atmosphere than Miami Beach. From the outside, Mr. C appears to look like a cruise ship. Inside the hotel, it is stylish and modern in a casual manner. The rooms resemble a large cruise ship’s suite. Additionally, Bellini, the restaurant on the roof, is worth a trip. Make sure you reserve a table!
The Biltmore Hotel located in Coral Gables: If you’re looking for a way to escape the chaotic atmosphere of Miami, The Biltmore could be the perfect choice. The hotel is near everything but in a tranquil part of Coral Gables. The hotel is surrounded by an 18-hole golf course that is far away from the turmoil of Miami. A short drive can take you to wherever you’d like to go. You can also enjoy the historical property, lush green gardens, gorgeous pool, and spa.
Life House in Little Havana for an experience that is more unique to Miami, I suggest Life House. This whimsical 33-room boutique hotel is just from Calle Ocho in Little Havana. The 1920s-era structure is set in an area of residential. It’s a significant change in speed from the usual Miami scene.
Generator Miami in Miami Beach: Tight budget? The Generator located in Miami Beach is a great option. The Generator is a distinct kind of hostel. Renting rooms and beds in a relaxed and clean environment with top-quality service is possible. This Miami Beach location has free bikes, a pool, and a bar. The greatest part? You’re just a few steps from the very best South Beach.
NightGarden Magical Lights Spectacular at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens
If you’ve visited the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens, consider it the next time you visit Miami. If you happen to be staying for the holidays, you’re in for a unique experience. NightGarden will be different from the other light shows for Christmas listed on this list. It’s a truly magical experience, complete with revealed fairies, a talkative tree, and a snow display.
Miami City Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center
The spectacle of The Nutcracker is one of my most loved holidays. It’s good that you don’t have to travel to New York City at Christmas to see a spectacular show! Miami City Ballet’s performance is truly magical! Plus, there is the chance to visit it at Adrienne Arsht Center, one of the city’s most well-known architectural landmarks.
Holiday Evening Stroll at Deering Estate
Deering Estate is one of the Florida homes of Chicago industrialist Charles Deering. Today, the site preserves 1920s Miami alive with tours, classes, and other events. The holiday season is when the best interior designers from Florida decorate the entire property with a history theme. Signing up for the Holidays Evening Stroll str, all the gardens, and enjoying an evening movie around the campfire is possible.
Bayfront Holiday Village at Bayfront Park
Each year at Christmas, Bayfront Park transforms into the only Christmas market where you can enjoy special mojitos, hear Latin groups sing Christmas tunes, and showcase your rollerskating abilities at Bayskate (take this, Rockefeller Center Ice Skating!). There are a variety of food trucks and events and a Santa Paws dog park! In the middle is a 50-foot Christmas tree with a stunning lighting show every hour.
Bayfront Holiday Village Bayfront Holiday Village begins to come alive in the last week of November and lasts until December. The market is accessible to all. However, you must purchase tickets to rollerblading at Baystate in the Bayfront area. Bayfront. Bring your roller skates and in-line skates, or rent the skates. (Tip: Don’t forget to wear your Crew socks!)
Nights of Lights at Pinecrest Gardens
Pinecrest Gardens is a beautiful park in an area that is among the stunning neighborhoods in Miami. It’s one of my top spots to relax throughout the year. However, during the holidays, the place transforms completely with festive lights, delicious treats, and live music on certain nights. Children also have the opportunity to join Story Time with Mrs. Claus. The Nights of Lights starts in mid-December and will end at the beginning of the month in January. Admission is $5. cost to the park, but it’s worth it. Kids younger than two, those over 65, and active military members get the park for free.
